The Last Days of Judas Iscariot

This was my second trailer produced for the University of York's DramaSoc, the first being my teaser for World, Shut Your Mouth!, which I created during my first term at the university. Whilst I had been wanting to do a full cinematic trailer this time around, my examinations coupled with my commitment to my own show, The Pillowman, prevented me from achieving this goal. However, armed with a very nice camera and DJI Ronin gimbal lent to me by a friend, I was able to shoot and edit this short teaser during the show's production week.

Given the 3 hours I ended up with to edit the entire trailer together, I am much happier with the final product than I had expected to be! The gimbal, much as my experience shooting the World, Shut Your Mouth! trailer had taught me, allows for much smoother, sweeping camera shots that build a sense of gravitas and scale. The lighting used in this production also lent itself really well to film - giving the captured footage a polished, studio-esque feel (the footage used in the trailer is raw, no colour grading or other effects were used - I didn't have time for that!).

I had a lot of fun putting this teaser together, even if I wasn't able to be involved in the production from an earlier stage due to my other, aforementioned commitments. I look forward to hopefully making more teaser trailers for DramaSoc going forward!
